MONONA: Funeral services for Lawrence J. Heman, aged 70, were held Friday afternoon at three o'clock from the Carl G. Schultz funeral home and burial was made in the city cemetery. Pallbearers were Kermit Kling, Frank Montgomery, Fred J. Peglow, Leon T. Birdsell, William B. Weithorn, Bruce Tapper, Fred L. Tayek, and H. S. Rittenhouse.
Lawrence J. Heman was born at Monona, July 03, 1869, and died Suddenly at Minneapolis Feb. 21, 1940. At the age of twelve he moved with his parents to South Dakota and later to Minneapolis, where he attended school and was in the real estate business. He never married. He was a member of the Methodist church, the Masonic lodge, Consistory and Shrine.
Surviving him are two sisters, Mrs. Mary Brown and Mrs. Jennie Bell of West Union.
