Henry Boehm was born in Volga township, Clayton county, Ia., on Aug. 20, 1854, and died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Emma Fishel, Jan. 31, 1940. He attained the age of 85 years, 5 months and 11 days. His end came very quietly and without pain or suffering. He lived his entire life in the Garber community and was well known by many. In his youth he hired out much of the time and later took up farming for himself.
On Sept. 08, 1883, he was united in holy wedlock with Minnie Watermann, who preceded him in death Dec. 24th, 1935. This union was blessed with three children: Emil and Mrs. Emma Fishel of Elkport and Mattie who died April 24, 1919. Besides his son and daughter he leaves to mourn his departure five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and many friends.
Funeral services were held in the home of Mrs. Emma Fishel, Feb. 02, 1940. and burial was made in Mt. Harmony cemetery with the Rev. C. P. Schrupp of St. John's Evangelical church, officiating.
