Frederick Miller was born Feb. 28, 1869, near National, Ia.

On Feb. 19, 1892, he was united in marriage to Miss Emma Schmidt. To this union were born three children, one dying in infancy. For 29 years Mr. Miller farmed two and one-half miles east of Farmersburg. In 1921 he retired to Farmersburg. This continued to be his home until the time of his death. He was a member of the board of directors of the bank.

His life was not without its crosses. Mr. Miller accompanied to the final resting place an infant child and in March of 1915 his wife.

During the past years Mr. Miller has suffered considerably from rheumatism. Death came on Jan. 21 caused by heart failure. He was found dead in bed on Monday morning, Jan. 22. He reached the age of 70 years, 10 months and 24 days.

He leaves to mourn, his children, Miss Leona Miller, Vern Miller and wife, Mrs. Mable Miller and Eugene Miller.

Also his brothers and sister, Mrs. Dora Frederick of Emmetsburg, John Miller of Emmetsburg, Mrs. Minnie Klinkenberg of Farmersburg, Mrs. Lizzie Schmidt of St. Olaf, William Miller of Monona, Mrs. Anna Kahle of Humbolt, S.Dak., Mrs. Bertha Dickenson of Emmetsburg, and Mrs. Martha Faber of Ionia, Ia. Also a host of other relatives and friends.

One brother and two sisters have preceded him in death.
