McGregor: Funeral services were held at the Methodist church Wednesday afternoon for Mrs. Ralph E. Blackwell, who died Monday at her home north of Marquette after a long illness. The Rev. G. W. McMichael officiated at the services and burial was made in Pleasant Grove cemetery.

Mrs. Blackwell was born on a farm in Allamakee county, April 30, 1873. Nearly all her life was spent in that same vicinity. She was married to Ralph Blackwell in Prairie du Chien August 13, 1891. Mr. Blackwell operated a general store at Waukon Junction until 1915 when he purchased the farm where they have made their home ever since. She is survived by her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Ross Dall and Mrs. Floyd Luce of McGregor, and Lois at home; four sons; John of Waukon, Orton at home, Alan and Ralph of Harpers Ferry; ten grand children, two sisters and two brothers.
