McGregor: Funeral services for Emerson Pullen, 71, were held at the Methodist church Friday afternoon, Rev. G. W. McMichael officiating. Mr. Pullen died at his home near town early Wednesday morning, after an illness of about a year. Mr. Pullen came to McGregor from Boscobel, Wis., a little over 30 years ago and has lived just at the edge of town on highway 18 ever since. He has been known for raising the only tobacco around this section and for being quite successful with it. He is survived by his wife, two sons, Charles of Dubuque and Russell of California, and three daughters, Ethel, Mrs. Gerald Connell, of McGregor; Naomi, Mrs. Claire Hoyt, of Laramie, Wyoming, and Josephine, Mrs. R. O. Elefson, of Osage. Burial was made in leasant Grove cemetery.
