Clayton County Register, 17 Jan. 1940.

Charles D. Phelps, who has been a patient at the County Hospital here for several years, died of a heart attack last Saturday at the age of 68 years, four months and 17 days.

His body was taken to McGregor, his former home, and from there to Britt, Ia., yesterday for burial.
