Clayton County Register, 17 Jan. 1940.
T. Frank Corson,58, of Littleport, who is employed as a county road maintainer, was found dead in his car about a mile beyond the William Steen farm toward Elkport, Monday afternoon.
Corson had been shoveling snow Monday forenoon in an effort to open the County Trunk road between Communia and Elkport. He was seen alive for the last time about noon at the Steen farm. At about 1:40 he was found in his car, parked alongside of the road by Mike Walz who reported to the Sheriff's office here in Elkader.
Deputy Sheriff Arnold Mueller and County Coroner E. B. Rhomberg went to the scene immediately. When these officials came to the car the ignition was still turned on but the motor had stopped running.
Officials believe that Corson felt the attack coming on as he was driving his car and that he pulled off to the side of the road before he died.
Mr. Corson, who was born March 02, 1882, is survived by his widow and eight children: Raymond, Melvin, Mrs. Ruth Tuecke, Mrs. Leona Ortman, Carl, Lois, Esther and Doris.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at the late home in Littleport and at 1:15 in the Hope Lutheran church, the Rev. Leon Gehret officiating. Burial will be made in the Union cemetery at Littleport.
