ST. OLAF: Jacob Larson was born 06, 1860, near Avoca, Wis., of the parents, Jacob and Johanna Larson, one of a family of 12 children, and passed away Dec. 17, 1939, at Orlando, Fla., after a lingering illness.
On March 09, 1887, he was married to Gunhild Embretson of St. Olaf. They moved to Ruso, N.Dak., where they resided for a while, later moving to St. Ansagr, Iowa. In 1900, they moved back to the farm 2 1/2 miles northwest of St. Olaf, where Mrs. Larson passed away on March 21, 1906.
Mr. Larson retired from active farming in 1925, and moved to Florida. On August 07, 1927, he was united in marriage to Mrs. Bertha Judd.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife; three sons, LeRoy of Orlando, Fla.; Roscoe of Lancaster, Pa., and James of Delmar, Iowa; three daughters, Mrs. Beulah Kjosa, Mrs. Lulu Severson and Mrs. Orpha Larson, all of St. Olaf; one step-daughter, Florence Nicholson of San Antonio, Texas; one sister, Mrs. Caroline Clark, of Britt, Iowa; one half-brother, Chris Larson, of Avoca, Wis.; two half-sisters, Johanna Larson of Hudson, Wis., and Rachel Peterson of Ruso, N.D., and three grandchildren, LaVerne Larson and Elaine and Eldon Severson, all of St. Olaf. One daughter, Grace, preceded him in death in 1902.
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the Norway Lutheral church with the Rev. S. J. Strandjord officiating. Interment was made in the Norway cemetery.
