Clayton County Register, 20 Dec. 1939.

MONONA: Funeral services for Mrs. Catherine Moses, aged 89, were held on Monday morning at 9:30 from St. Patrick's Catholic church, the Rev. Father Luke Donlon singing the mass of requiem and burial was made in St. Wenselaus Catholic cemetery, east of Monona, where Mr. Moses was buried.

Surviving Mrs. Moses are four sons, John, Simon and Jacob R. Moses of Monona and Joseph Moses of Madison, Nebr., and four sisters, Mrs. Joseph W. Lotza and Mrs. Joseph Tayek of Monona, Mrs. W. B. Ferguson of Farmersburg and Mrs. Elizabeth McClure of Malcolm, Iowa.

Mrs. Moses made her home with her son Simon and wife, who faithfully cared for her during her lifetime. She was always happy to see her grandchildren and great-grandchildren when they came to visit her. She was true to her faith and lived a most pious life, having all the virtues of a good Christian mother. Her husband and two sons, Albert E. Moses and Thomas E. Moses preceded her in death.
