Funeral services for Theodor G. Stapel were held at Gill's funeral home, Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Glenn S. Hartong, pastor of the Methodist church. Burial was made in the Strawberry Point cemetery.

Theodor Gustav Stapel, son of Johann Gottlieb and Caroline Schence Stapel, was born at Strawberry Point on Nov. 19, 1877, and died Thursday evening at the Mercy hospital in Oelwein, following an operation for perforated ulcer. During his life he worked on farms in Fayette and Clayton counties. Surviving are three brothers and three sisters: Fred Stapel, Atkins, Iowa; Arthur C. Stapel, Oelwein; Ernest Stapel, Zerona, Wis.; Mrs. S. F. (Lena) Schoentag, Strawberry Point; Mrs. Carl (Bertha) Glode, Oelwein; and Mrs. Andrew (Alice) Steil, Moline, Ill.
