Funeral services were held this afternoon here in Elkader for George Kopp, who died at his home Sunday, November 26th, following an illness of several years.

Mr. Kopp was born May 15, 1858, on a farm in Cox Creek township. With the exception of several years spent in St. Louis, the deceased spent the greater part of his life in this county - at Communia, and, since 1928, here in Elkader.

May 10, 1885, he was united with Mary Ann Steen. Three children were born to this union, all of whom survive. His wife preceded him in death a number of years ago.

In early childhood Mr. Kopp attended the rural schools of the county, later attending the Bayless Business college in Dubuque. Until his retirement, however, he farmed the major part of his life.

The three surviving children are: Fred Kopp and Mrs. Clem Whittle, both of Communia, and Lenora Kopp of Elkader. Five grandchildren also survive. They are: Earl, Edythe, Bernell, Malcom and Norbert Whittle. Besides these, he is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Clara Muegge, of San Francisco, Calif.

The Rev. N. O. Bartholomew conducted the services this afternoon in the Congregational church, with burial in the East Side cemetery.
