Delbert D. Deal died at the University hospital in Iowa City at 11:35 last Wednesday, the cause of death being poliomyelitis. He was taken ill on Friday, Oct. 06th and on the following Monday it was found necessary that he be taken to the Iowa City hospital.

Delbert Daniel Deal, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Deal, was born on June 21, 1922. He spent the short days of his life in the home of his parents on the farm and for the last two years in Farmersburg. He was a senior in the Farmersburg high school and secretary - treasurer of his class. This reveals the esteem and the regard in which he was held by his classmates.

His span of life was short. He reached the age of 17 years, three months and 20 days. He leaves to mourn his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Deal, two sisters, Delpha and Mrs. Elmer Huckstadt, a half-brother, Arno, and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kruse, Sr.; also a host of other relatives and friends.
