Strawberry Point: Funeral services for M. W. Henry were held Wednesday morning at Sacred Heart church, north of Strawberry Point. The mass was said by the Rev. Julius Olinger of Garber, a nephew of the deceased. The Rev. Patrick Malloy of Ryan preached the sermon and the Rev. P. J. Boyle of Strawberry Point officiated at the grave. The pallbearers were Henry Gibbs, Pete Wolf, Arthur Dittmer, Wm. Byrnes, D. J. Ivory and P. H. Quinn. Burial was made in the adjoining cemetery.
Michael William Henry, son of Alexander and Anna M. Carr Henry, was born April 18, 1856, at Frankville, N.Y., and died last Saturday, Aug. 19, 1939. He was one of a family of 13 children. He was united in marriage to Katherine Olinger in November, 1878. He was engaged in farming. After the death of Mrs. Henry on Sept 01, 1917, he lived with his children. Surviving are the following children: Atty. Bert Henry, Portland, Ore.; Mrs. Mayme Opperman, Elkader; James Henry, Savannah, Ill.; Miss Marie Henry, Washington, D.C.; Mrs. Wm. (Calista) Merkl, Villard, Minn., and Mrs. Claude (Lillian) Clute, Greeley; also 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and the following brothers and sisters: Wiliam Henry, Robert Henry, Mrs. Kate O'Brien and Mrs. Rose O'Brien, Strawberry Point; Martin Henry, Verndale, Minn.; Peter Henry, Mt. Pleasant, Mich.; Alex Henry, Spencer; John Henry, Greeley; and Mrs. Margaret Dinan, Littleport.
