Strawberry Point: Funeral services for Mrs. L. L. Hines were held at the Methodist church, Friday afternoon, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Frank V. Getty, assisted by the Rev. James E. McLain, pastor of the Congregational church. Dr. and Mrs. R. W. Dutton sang "Going Down the Valley" and "Must Jesus Bear the Cross Alone," with Miss Joyce Preston playing the accompaniment. The pallbearers were Earl Nichols, M. F. Harwood, A. J. Stamp, John Tracy, Fred Tracy and Wm. Schultz. Burial was made in the Strawberry Point cemetery.
Mary E. Dunsmoor, the last of a family of eight children, daughter of the late Thomas and Nancy Dunsmoor, was born June 21, 1871, on a farm at County Corners. She received her education in the rural school. Oct. 04, 1893, she was united in marriage to Samuel V. Teesdale. To this union, one son, Ray, was born. Mr. Teesdale died April 30, 1897. On April 21, 1900, Mrs. Teesdale was united in marriage to Lester L. Hines of Strawberry Point. To this union, four children were born, Leon, Grace and twin boys, one dying in infancy. The home has always been made here. Mrs. Hines was a member of the Methodist church, and Industrial Club, an active member as long as her health permitted of the Royal Neighbors of America and Strawberry Rebekah lodges.
Tuesday evening, Aug. 22, 1939, death came as a relief. Surviving are her husband and children: Ray D. Teesdale, Rochester, Minn.; Leon E. Hines and Mrs. W. J. (Grace) Kafka, Chicago, Ill., and Lyle D. Hines at home; also three grandchildren, Helen Mary Teesdale, Billie and Bobbie Kafka.
Those from out-of-town who attended the funeral were Mrs. Lillian Quinlan and Miss Mary Tonhy, Chicago, Ill.; Mrs. Chas Cawley, Manchester; Mrs. Wm. Towle, Littleport; Mr. and Mrs. Claude Holmes and sons David and Robert, Hazleton, and Mr. and Mrs. Martin Gruman, Lamont.
