Frank Garlow was born in Green county, Pennsylvania, Oct. 06, 1864, and he died at Colesburg, Aug. 01, 1939, having attained the age of 74 years, nine months and 24 days.
He was united in marriage to Mary Alice Hunt on March 11, 1896, at Colesburg. To this union were born eight children, six sons and two daughters. The sons are: Earl, Acie, and Arthur, of Dubuque; Carl of Duluth, Minn.; Maynard of Harpers Ferry, and Paul of Rock Island, Ill. The daughters are: Mrs. Wm. H. Muller of Rock Island, Ill., and Mrs. Clarence Peterson of Moline, Ill.
Besides his wife and children, he leaves to mourn his death, two sisters, Mary Simons of Colesburg, and Mrs. Harry Passenger of Minot, N.Dak.; three brothers, Chalie and James, also of Colesburg, and Will of Marcus, Iowa. Two sisters and one brother preceded him in death.
Mr. Garlow was a carpenter by trade and lived in this vicinity most of his life. Those who were acquainted with him knew him to be one who did his work faithfully.
Funeral services were held in the Simons home, August 03, and interment was made in the Brown cemetery near Colesburg, with Rev. C. P. Schrupp of Garber officiating.
