Clayton County Register, 09 Aug. 1939.

MONONA: Franz Mielke, Sr., aged 82, died suddenly of a stroke, Monday morning at his home here. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the Lutheran church, with burial in the Council Hill cemetery.

Surviving him are four sons, Leo A. Mielke, Paul, Fred, and Otto A. Mielke, and two daughters, Mrs. Frank Heitcamp and Mrs. Rudolph Levenhagen.
