MONONA: Funeral services for Mrs. Frank A. Schmitt, aged 64, were held at ten o'clock, Friday morning, from the home, and at 10:15 from the local Methodist church, The Rev. George W. Turner officiating, and burial was made in the city cemetery. She died at Rochester, Tuesday afternoon, having been there for five weeks and in poor health for many months.
She was born May 28, 1885, in Clayton county, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kishman. She married Frank A. Schmitt, Jan. 07, 1903, and they lived on his farm near Monona. Surviving her are the widower, Frank A. Schmitt; one son, Myron Schmitt; one daughter, Harriett Schmitt; two sisters, Mrs. Jacob R. Moses and Miss Carrie Kishman, both of Monona; and four brothers, George Kishman of Farmersburg, Werner Kishman of Luana, and Alfred and Howard Kishman, both of Monona.
Mrs. Schmitt was a loving wife and mother and a kind sister. The sympathy of the community is extended the bereaved in their loss.
(Note: The dates given in the obit are clear, but her age at death appears to be in error. Her gravestone in the Monona City cemetery is engraved 1875-1939)
