Henry Christianson, son of Ole and Gunild Christianson, was born March 17, 1889, in Marion township, Clayton county, on the old Christianson homestead. He was baptized and confirmed in the Marion church and died at his home July 27th, at the age of 50 years, four months and ten days. On Feb. 14, 1914, he was united in marriage to Matilda Halverson, and to this union 14 children were born, two of which preceded him in death.

He leaves to mourn, his wife and 12 children, namely, Geneva (Mrs. Raymond Lantz), Marjorie (Mrs. Merlin Martie), of Postville; Elmer, Hazel, Agnes, Millard, Delores, Clifford, Henry Jr., Betty Lou, Velma and Charles, all at home; also one grandson, Raymond Lantz, Jr. He also leaves to mourn his departure, four brothers and two sisters, Christ of Elkader, Ole and Albert of Clermont, Enoch of Colorado Springs, Colo., Mrs. Nick Johnson of St. Olaf, Mrs. Bertha West of Decorah. Two sisters and one brother preceded him in death. Also, 19 nieces and nephews and a host of friends will miss him.
