Clayton County Register, 12 July 1939.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the home for Mrs. Clarence F. Spaulding, who died Saturday. Services were conducted by Rev. J. F. Parsons of the Congregational church and burial was made in Pleasant Grove cemetery. Mrs. Spaulding was born in McGregor 81 years ago, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Stow. Her father had come to McGregor in 1853 and was in the mercantile business here for 50 years. She was married April 14th, 1887, to Clarence F. Spaulding and spent her whole life in McGregor. One son, Edward Leslie, was born to them, but lost his life in the apartment house fire last winter. She is survived by her husband and five grandchildren.
