Volga: Funeral services were held at four o'clock Saturday afternoon, July 08, at the gravesite in Hill Crest cemetery for Charles Henry Graves.

Deceased was born at Wadena, Iowa, Feb. 12, 1864, and at the time of his death had attained the age of 75 years, four months and 24 days.

He had lived practically all of his life in this community. For the last number of years he lived a short distance west of town. Rev. E. J. Starr, Methodist minister, officiated at the services. A quartet composed of Jennie Susie, Freda Adams, Harry Boleyn and Clarence Kohls, accompanied by Mrs. Fred Gernand, sang two appropriate hymns. The pall-bearers were Lyle Jennings, Dan Lowe, Frank Phillips, Claude Miles, Harry Boleyn and Thomas Lendman.

He is survived by one sister, Mrs. George Fox, of this city.

Mr. Graves was found dead a short distance from his home, Saturday forenoon, by his nephew, Archie Fox, and a neighbor, Frank Phillips. It is thought he had been dead since Thursday afternoon. During the storm of Wednesday night, lightning struck his house, doing a small amount of damage. Due to the excitement of the storm and the extreme heat of Thursday, it is thought he had been overcome while on his way home from town, which resulted in his sudden death. Mr. Graves was unmarried.
