Theo L. Olson was born in Wagner township on Feb. 11, 1873, and departed this life on May 05, 1939, at 8:40 a.m., at his home in Gunder, aged 66 years, two months and 24 days.
He was the first of a family of 13 children to pass away, the oldest being 78 years old, and the youngest 54 years old.
On Jan. 10, 1901, he was united in marriage with Christina Olson, who died a year ago April 26th.
They had made their home on a farm in this vicinity until Mr. Olson's health began to fail, at which time they moved to Elgin and later to Gunder.
Mr. Olson had been in poor health a long time, but was always cheerful and patient.
Those who mourn the departure of this father are his two daughters, Mrs. Paul Gogg of Nashua, and Mrs. Pete Opperud of Maynard, and two sons, Merrill at home and Lawrence of McGregor, and three grandchildren; also five sisters, Mrs. Pete Bethel of Ellendale, Minn., Mrs. Wm. Carney of St. Olaf, Mrs. James Smith of Ruthven, Iowa, Mrs. George Gieser of Jackson, Minn., and Mrs. Ole A. Olson of Thompson, N.D., and seven brothers, Knut and Lars of St. Olaf, Nels of Phelps, Wis., Hans of Elkader, Gilbert and Willie of Ruthven, and Ole of Osakis, Minn., and one uncle, Gilbert Hanson of St. Olaf, besides a host of other relatives and friends.
