Clayton County Register, 29 Mar. 1939.

MONONA: Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Hartke, aged 83, were held at two o'clock Saturday afternoon from the C. G. Schultz funeral home and burial was made Sunday afternoon in the Garner, Iowa, cemetery beside her husband.

Mrs. Hartke has been an invalid and was cared for in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence G. Bernhard. where she died.

Surviving her are one daughter, Emma, Mrs. Clarence G. Bernhard, eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Hartke, the wife of a Methodist minister, spent her life as a great helper until poor health forced her to retire.
