Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Kinton, 83, were held Sunday afternoon from the M.E. church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Floyd R. Maynard. The casket was supported by John Moser, E.M. Moser, Matt Gassman, Tracy Radabah, F. Brown and Roy Smith. Burial was made in the Brown cemetery.

Mrs. Kinton passed away Wednesday evening, March 15th, at a hospital in Hastings, Nebr. She had been declining in health for the past three years, but a stroke sustained two weeks previously was the immediate cause of her death.

Miss Anna Hammond, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Hammond, was born May 7, 1855, on a farm two miles north of Colesburg. When she was two years old, her mother died and she was taken into the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Cropp, where she grew up.

On Feb. 28, 1873, she was united in marriage with Erasmus Kinton, and the home was in this vicinity for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, John, who died in infancy, and a daughter, Mrs. Norma Cornwell, who left three young sons at her death. Two of the grandsons, Harold and Fred, were reared by Mr. and Mrs. Kinton.

Following the death of her husband Mrs. Kinton made her home with the grandsons at Coggon and of late years at Hastings. The survivors include three grandsons, Harold Cornwell at Hastings, Fred at Central City and Leo at Coggon; seven great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews, beside other relatives and a wide circle of friends. Three brothers and a sister preceded her in death.

Mrs. Kinton was of a friendly companionable nature, and will be affectionately remembered by the many friends in Colesburg and community.
