MILLVILLE: John S. Graybill of Cassville, Wis., passed away at the home of his son Martin, February 07, 1939. He was born in Millville twp. June 30, 1848, making him 90 years, 7 months and 7 days of age. He had been in failing health for some time and although all that loving hands and medical skill could suggest was of no avail.
He was married to Anna Smith of Millville twp., on March 15, 1870. They resided on the farm where he was born until 1879 when they moved to Cassville, Wisconsin, where they spent the remainder of his life.
Uncle John as he was familiarly called, was a devoted husband and father and leaves a large circle of relatives and friends to mourn his departure. He is survived by his aged wife and five daughters: Mrs. Ella Woodworth of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Hattie Livingston, of Millville, Mrs. Anna Norris, Mrs. Nettie Walsh and Mrs. Eva Walsh all of Inver Grove, Minn., and three sons, Chas. of Colesburg, Martin of Cassville, Wis., and Orin of Minneapolis. Also 12 grandchildren and 4 great- grandchildren and one great-great-grandson, Chas Graybill of Colesburg.
He was preceded in death by two sons, one grandson and one great-grandson. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the Goshen church of which he was a member at the time. Burial was made in Goshen Cemetery. The Rev. F. R. Maynard of Colesburg officiated. Pall bearers were two grandsons, Ervin and Arthur Graybill and four nephews, Frank, Thomas and Harry Kolker, and William James.
