Mrs. Mary Ann Bunting, a resident of this city for the past 29 years, died Feb. 09, 1939, at the age of 67 years, three months and 22 days.
Mrs. Bunting was born in Marion township, Clayton county, October 17, 1871, and was the daughter of John Feller and his wife Magdeliene, who came to this country from Switzerland.
The deceased was united in marriage to Herman Bunting on November 29, 1905, in Elkader. Four children were born to this union, and two survive her, Mrs. Melvin Ahrens of Elkader, and Valmah, also of Elkader. Two sons preceded the mother in death, one as an infant, the other at about seven years of age.
Mrs. Bunting had been in failing health for quite some time, and for the past two months of her life was bedfast and suffered greatly. The deceased's interest was around her home. As a recreation she spent much of her time with her flowers and garden. Mrs. Bunting was a member of Frieden's Evangelical church and its Frauen Verein. She was also a member of the Royal Neighbors of America.
She leaves to mourn her departure, her two aforementioned children, three sisters and three brothers, namely: Mrs. Emma Bunting of Elgin, Iowa, Mrs. L. J. Cooley of Dubuque, Mrs. John Hedrich of Villard, Minn., Henry and Charles Feller of Elgin, Iowa, and George Feller of Osborne; also three grandchildren, Arlene, Ivadean, and Lavon Ahrens. Her husband preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held last Sunday afternoon from the home at 1:30, and the Frieden's Evangelical church at two o'clock, with burial in the East Side cemetery, the Rev. P. Kitterer officiating.
