Mrs. Frieda Schutte, 88, of Guttenberg died early Friday morning, October 7, 1988 at the Guttenberg Care Center.

Services were conducted by the Rev. L. C. Urlaub at 3 p.m. Sunday, October 9, at St. Paul Lutheran Church with burial in Guttenberg City Cemetery. Pallbearers were, Allen, Mark, Milo, and Lee Rolfe, Harlan Friederich and John Berns. Vistation was at the Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home.

Mrs. Schutte was born in Clayton Center on October 27, 1899, a daughter of Fritz and Anna (Mahnke) Kalke. She was married to Elmer Schutte January 30, 1918 at Clayton Center, and Mrs. Schutte farmed with her husband. He died November 24, 1975.

She is survived by one son, Harold of Dubuque, two daughters, Mrs. John (Mayme) Friederich and Mrs. Clifford (Rosalyn) Rolfe, both of Guttenberg, 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and three sisters, Eda Henning, of Farmersburg, Mrs. Hulda Baade and Mrs. Elta Eberhardt, both of Elkader.

She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and two sister.

Frieda Schutte, 88, died Friday morning in the Guttenberg Care Center following a long illness. She and her husband farmed in the Guttenberg area for many years.

Survivors include a son, Harold of Dubuque; two daughters, Mayme Fredrick and Rosalyn Rolfe, both of Guttenberg; three sisters, Eda Henning of Farmersburg, and Hulda Badde and Elta Eberhardt, both of Elkader; 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren three great-great-grandchildren, 17 step-grandchildren and a step-great-grandchild.

Services: 3 p.m. Sunday in St. Paul Lutheran Church. Burial: Guttenberg Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today at Tucke-Allyn's.
