KREGEL, BONKER, MEYER

Clayton County Register, 27 July 1938.

MONONA: Funeral services for August H. Kregel, aged 80, were held Thursday afternoon from the Lutheran church, the Rev. H. W. Siefkes officiated. He was born at Garnavillo, Oct. 18, 1857, and when a young man was married to Miss Mary Bonker and thirty-five years ago they moved to Monona.

Surviving him are his widow, Mrs. Mary Kregel of Monona, one brother, E. W. Kregel of Garnavillo, and one sister, Mrs. Amelia Meyer of St. Olaf. His brother, J. W. Kregel died last year.

In the death of Mr. Kregel, Monona has again parted with one of its outstanding citizens. He was a faithful member of his church, always generous in his donations, a good neighbor and friend to all. The sympathy of the entire community are extended Mrs. Kregel.
