STRAWBERRY POINT: Funeral services for Mrs. Hannah Waring were held at the Emanuel's Lutheran church, Monday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. Max O. Jahr. Burial was made in the St. Sebald cemetery.
Hannah Rosena Haering, youngest child of seven children of Michael and Mary Haering, was born at St. Sebald, March 20, 1874, and died at the home of her sister, Mrs. Elizabeth McDonald, Friday evening, following a stroke.
She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church. Her entire life was spent in and around Strawberry Point. On Jan. 01, 1918, she was united in marriage to Chris Waring, who preceded her in death Feb. 13, 1932. After the death of their sister, Mrs. Ed. Gleason, Mrs. Waring and Mrs. McDonald reared and cared for three small children: Mrs. M. Huebsch of Cedar Rapids, Sister Barbara Marie of Detroit, Mich., and Edward Gleason of Waterloo. For the past six years Mrs. Waring had made her home with Mrs. McDonald. Surviving are one brother, Charles Haering of Oelwein, and one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth McDonald, of Strawberry Point, besides nieces and nephews.
