Donald William Muench was born here in Elkader, March 31, 1920, and so at the time of his sad death was a little more than 18 years of age.

Funeral services were held at St. Joseph's church here yesterday morning with, perhaps, the largest attendance ever on record. People came from all parts of the county as well as adjoining counties. Rev. J. P. Taken officiated, and burial was made in St. Joseph's cemetery.

But for the illness of his father, last spring, Donald would have graduated with the class of 1938 from St. Joseph's parochial school here.

Besides his parents, he is survived by two sisters, Veronica (Mrs. M. J. Moody of McGregor) and Helen at home.

Casket-bearers were: Ray Neylan, John Geraghty, John Jungblut, Boyd Huggins, Jack Wacker, Kenneth Fassbinder and Dave Walch.

The bereaved family has the sympathy of the entire community.
