Clayton County Register, 06 July 1938.

MONONA: Walter A. Hass, aged 28 years, Thursday morning died at the Prairie du Chien sanitarium of diabetes. Funeral services were held at two o'clock Saturday afternoon from the Mrs. Bertha Hass home to the Lutheran church with the Rev. H. W. Siefkes officiating and burial was made in the Lutheran cemetery beside his father, Herman Hass.

Walter Hass was born Dec. 04, 1910, near McGregor and spent his entire life in this vicinity. He was the youngest son of Mrs. Bertha Hass of Monona with whom he lived. Other survivors are his sister, Alvina, now Mrs. Fredrick C. Daugs and three brothers, Fred C. Hass of McGregor and Charles Hass and Otto C. Hass, both of Monona.

The sympathy of the entire community is extended to the mother and sister and brothers in their loss.
