ELKPORT: Mrs. Minnie Athen Refle, (was) born in Germany, June 11, 1861, came to America with her parents at the age of two years, making Littleport their home. Feb. 26, 1881, she entered into marriage with John Refle. Up until 1897 they made Littleport and Elkport their home, whereupon they moved to Bellevue, Iowa, and remained there until 1911, from which time they made Dubuque their home. Following her husband's death, the deceased made her home with her daughter, in La Crosse, Wis. On Jan. 07th of this year she passed away, due to heart disease, and on April 30, at 11:00 a.m., her earthly remains were laid to rest in the Littleport cemetery. Rev. H. L. Buesing officiated.
The remaining survivors are two daughters: Mrs. L. R. Simonson and Mrs. R. H. Yingling, of Chicago, Ill., three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; also one sister, Mrs. Anna Ahrendt. Those attending the burial were Mrs. R. H. Yingling and daughter Beulah, Mr. and Mrs. L. R. Simonson and daughter Cleo, Mrs. Mary Simonson, Mrs. Anna Ahrendt, of Dubuque. Prior to the burial the remains were kept in Oak Grove Mausoleum, LaCrosse, Wis.
