Clayton County Register, 04 May 1938.

MONONA: Charles Blietz, aged 84, died at his home here Wednesday afternoon, after an illness of several months. Funeral services were held at nine o'clock, Saturday morning from St. Patrick's Catholic church, with burial in the parish cemetery. A grandson of Mr. Blietz, the Rev. Father Gerald V. Steiert, of Peosta, sang the mass of requiem, and the pastor, the Rev. Father Luke Donlon, preached the sermon.

Surviving him are two daughters, Mrs. Adeline Steiert of Monona, and Mrs. Melvina Snell of Buffalo Center, Iowa, and three sons, Joseph Blietz and Hugo Blietz, of Monona, and Albert Blietz of Carbondale, Ill. Sixteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive him, and one sister.

The sympathy of the community is extended the children in their loss.
