VOLGA: Alma Violet Lamphier Jones passed away at the hospital in Iowa City, Saturday night, March 12, 1938, after a short illness, at the age of 41 years, 7 months and 26 days.
She leaves to mourn her untimely death, her husband, son Robert, age 13, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Lamphier, Volga City, five sisters, Mrs. Martha Hill, Dubuque; Mrs. Sylvia Kirby, Chicago; Mrs. Esther Quarterman, Galesburg, Ill.; Mrs. Arlene Burns, Fayette; Miss Lillian Lamphier, at home; also four brothers, Henry and Earl of Volga, Harlo of Strawberry Point, and Bert of Wadena.
Two brothers, Clarence and Lester, and a sister, Grace, preceded her in death. She also leaves a host of friends.
Mrs. Jones was so patient in her sickness, ready to go at any time, always trusting in her Saviour.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock in the Presbyterian church, the Rev. James Wray officiating. Burial was in Hill Crest cemetery, Volga City.
