GARNAVILLO: Funeral services for Mrs. Albertena Sabena Dettman, 82, were held Saturday at St. Paul's church, the Rev. M. J. Harder officiating. Mrs. Dettman died last Thursday, March 10, after having spent most of her life near Clayton and Garnavillo.

Albertena Sabena Dettman was born Sept. 15, 1855, in Berlin, Somerset county, Penn. Her parents were Henry and Caroline Bothmer. Shortly after they came to Iowa and settled in Clayton. She lived there until she married C. A. Dettman, Sept. 24, 1874, and then moved to a farm southwest of Garnavillo, where they lived for 40 years.

In 1915 they moved to Garnavillo, where they lived until her death, Thursday, March 10, 1938, at the age of 82 years, five months and 25 days.

She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran church and of the Ladies Aid.

She is survived by her husband and nine children, Mrs. Amelia Schmidt, Mrs. Hallie Brownson, Mrs. Eleanor Flagel, Mrs. Clara Roebken, Mrs. Rachael Coffman, William, Walter, and Elmer, all of Garnavillo, and Mrs. Frank Cherne of Joliet, Ill. Ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Amelia Hinsch and Mrs. Isabelle Pansar, also survive. Pallbearers were six grandchildren: Milton Schmidt, Norbert Dettman, Donald Dettman, Nevalle Flagel, Harold Dettman and Robert Roebken.

Hinsch, McGregor; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Mohrman, St. Olaf; Mr. and Mrs. Harley Gossman and Mila Mae, Luana; Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Seippel, Dubuque; Mr. and Mrs. Gus Weyl, Le Sueur, Minn.; Miss Ida Otting, Le Sueur, Minn.; Mrs. Rose Lammar, Mankato, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Julius Dettman, Farmersburg; Mrs. Mike Bente and son, Elkader; Mr. and Mrs. John Dettman and Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Dettman, Monona; Mr. and Mrs. Vern Marting and daughters, and Mr. and Mrs. Louis Mueller and daughter, Farmersburg; Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Dettman, McGregor; Aug. Walke and Viola, Guttenberg; Milton Schmidt, Milwaukee, Wis.
