Clayton County Register, 02 Mar. 1938.

Peter L. Embretson Died At St. Olaf Last Saturday; 77 Years Old.

St. Olaf: Peter T. Embretson passed away at the Fred Orvis home at St. Olaf, Saturday morning, February 26, 1938, at the age of 77 years, seven months and 29 days. He was born June 27, 1860, in Wagner township, Clayton county, Iowa, on the home farm, one mile east of St. Olaf, the son of Christine and Thomas (Torsten) Embretson. He was baptized and confirmed in the Norway Lutheran church, of which he has always been a member.

After several years of farming in this vicinity, he purchased the home farm which he operated until the spring of 1913. Then he retired and moved to St. Olaf. While there he made his home with his sister, Mrs. Louise Knudson, until a short time before his death, when he moved to the home of Fred Orvis.

About a year ago his health began to fail. Since then he has been under medical and loving care until his death.

His parents; two brothers, Andrew and Embret, and one sister, Bertha, have preceded him in death. He is survived by three sisters, Mrs. John Christianson, Mrs. Fred Orvis and Mrs. Louise Knudson, and two brothers, Theodore and Henry, besides a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Fred Orvis home at 1:30, and at Norway church at two o'clock, with Rev. S. J. Srandjord officiating. Burial was made in Norway cemetery. Casketbearers were: Floyd Orvis, Vernett and Aden Embretson, Alvin Larson, Blaine Johnson and Elmer Wilke.

(Note: A Card Of Thanks, signed by his brothers and Sisters, names him as Peter T. Embretson.)
