Francis Robert Campbell, age 56, died at the Presbyterian hospital at 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon as the result of a stroke of apoplexy suffered earlier in the day at his home, 1015 Eleventh street west. The body was removed to the undertaking parlors of Petersen Brothers and prepared for burial.
Mr. Campbell was born in National, Clayton county, Iowa, Feb. 14, 1862 and on Dec. 18, 1886, he was united in marriage to Miss Luella Smith at Elkader. Fifteen years ago they moved to Sheffield and came to this city to reside five years ago.
He is survived by his widow, two daughters, Margaret and Gale, who reside in this city, a son, Milton, of Lockwood, Iowa; two brothers, William of Sheffield, and Roland of Monona, Iowa, and a sister, Mrs. Mary Deyo, also of Sheffield.
The deceased was a member of the Odd Fellows, Modern Woodmen and Moose lodges.
A short prayer service will be held at the Petersen Brothers' parlors at 5 o'clock this afternoon, Rev. F.W. Court officiating. The body will be taken to National, Ia., early tomorrow for interment.
