Thoma, Paulus died 1882

Mr. Paulus Thoma, of Garnavillo, died at that place on Tuesday morning, at the advanced age of 80 years. He was the father of Mrs. Wolfgang Schmidt, of this place.

Mr. T. was born in Bavaria, and came to this county a number of years ago, locating at Garnavillo, and has been closely identified with the growth and prosperity of our sister town on the prairie.

The funeral occurred on Wednesday, and was very largely attended by friends and relatives. He was buried in the Garnavillo cemetery.
