MONONA: Funeral services for Florence McCarthy, age 56, were held at nine o'clock Tuesday morning from St. Patrick's Catholic church, the Rev. Luke Donlon said the mass and the prayers in the parish cemetery.

He was taken suddenly ill Saturday morning and was taken to the community hospital in Postville where his death occurred in the early evening.

Surviving him are one brother, Ed McCarthy of Laurel, Montana, and one half-brother, K. McCarthy of St. Paul. His sister Miss Margaret McCarthy preceded him in death.

Flora was a good neighbor and an unusually kind brother. He lived near Beulah and was loved by all who knew him.
