Peter E. Larson died suddenly while on his way home in Highland township on August 30th, from a heart attack.

He was born July 15, 1900, in Highland township, the son of Ed. and Gunhild (Thompson) Larson, and at the time of his death had reached the age of 37 years, one month and 15 days.

He received his early education in the rural school near his home, and spent one winter in Ames at Iowa State college. June __, 19__, in the Evangelical parsonage here, he was united in marriage with Mary Elizabeth Klingman. Two children were born to this union - Gladys LaVon and Robert Vernon - who, together with the wife, survive the untimely death of this young man. For a time the family had resided in Waterloo, where Mr. Larson had employment as a mechanic.

In addition to the wife and children, he is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Larson, three sisters and two brothers, as follows: Mrs. Sam (Cora) Allen, Toronto, Canada; Mrs. Lena Benson, Colorado Springs, Colo.; Mrs. Clifford (Mabel) Burrell, Jesup; Orvald and Elmer, of this community.

Funeral services were held at the Highland Lutheran church, and burial was made Sept. 01st in the cemetery adjoining the church, the Rev. G. Gunsten officiating. Casketbearers were four cousins, and two friends, namely, Philman, Glenn, Lawrence and Harry Larson, John Erickson and Henry Larson, Jr.

Relatives and friends from a distance who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Allen of Toronto, Canada, Mr. and Mrs. Burrell of Jesup; Mrs. E. M. Gaige, Mrs. Clara Ullom and Vivian Weibel, of Waterloo; Mrs. Mervin Sarchet and son, of Racine, Wis.; Bert Gruver and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Webb, of Rockford, Ill.

May his soul rest in peace.
