Clayton County Register, 14 July 1837.
GARBER: Mrs. Elizabeth Walters, 83, mother of the assistant Secretary of the Interior at Washington, D.C., died last week Tuesday, July 06, at her home after a short illness.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon at the home by Rev. Clements of Colesburg with burial in Brown cemetery near Colesburg.
She leaves to mourn her death, two daughters and five grandsons, Theodore of Washington, D.C., Marvin, Mrs. Pearl Smith and Mrs. Linn Brown of Colesburg, A. J., Jess, and Andrew of Garber, a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren besides other relatives and friends.
