Clayton County Register, 30 June 1937.

Funeral services were held at the National church last Sunday for Homer August Knight, 67, who died in Elkader June 11. He was born in National, Iowa, March 12, 1870, the son of John and Josephine Patchen Knight. He has always lived in this community and made his living by farming. He was married to Almira Davis Feb. 19, 1890, and eight children were born to them. His wife died many years ago. He is survived by John of Milwaukee, Alpha of Maquette, Stanley of Chicago, Sidney of Ontarioville, Ill., and Charity and Gayland of Bloomingdale, Ill. Burial was made in the National cemetery.
