WOOD: Anna Augusta Von Talge, the daughter of Herman and Ida Von Talge was born in Delaware county, Iowa, August 10, 1882, and died June 26, 1937, at the age of 54 yrs. 10 months and 15 days.

On June 29, 1910 she was united in marriage to Benjamin Wessel. She entered his home caring for his four children by a former marriage. To this union were born ten children six girls and four boys.

Mrs. Wessel was reared in a Christian home united with the Methodist church July 30, 1899, and remained a faithful member until death. She was an affectionate mother and always sought for the welfare of her husband and children. She was a good neighbor and active in work of the community.

For the last few years she has been failing in health especially since the death of their youngest daughter Doris, who departed this life December, 1935. In February 1936 her step-daughter, Florence, the wife of George Scheidecker also died. Mrs. Wessel's parents, two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.

There remain to mourn her passing her husband, nine children, Viola, Laura and Edna of Charles City, Vera, Elsie, Clifford, Lloyd, Wayne and Willard at home, and three step-children Irving and Howard of Edgewood and Mrs. Gottfrey Scheidecker of Clarksville, Ia. and one brother George of Colesburg; also six grandchildren besides a host of other relatives and friends.

The pallbearers were Ernest and Clifford Ash, Roy and Otto Appleton, Alton Rizer and Arthur Wessel.
