Clayton County Register, 30 June 1937.

Henry Thillen died Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, June 29, 1937, at the family residence at Elkader, following a lingering illness, in his 66th year. He was married to Lena Opitz March 02, 1897. Two children were born to this union, Fred of Strawberry Point, and Sylvester at home. He is also survived by two sisters, Mary Thillen of Chicago, and Emma Thillen of Elkader; four brothers, Pete of Thief River Falls, Minn., Nick of Elkader, P. J. of Altadena, Calif., and Fritz of Elkader. He was a member of St. Joseph's church. The body is resting at the McTaggart Funeral Home, from which the funeral will be held Thursday morning at 9:15, and at 9:30 at St. Joseph's church, with the Very Reverend Father J. P. Taken officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's cemetery.
