STRAWBERRY POINT: Ferdinand Rethmeier, age 10, was instantly killed Wednesday evening when the automobile in which he was riding with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. August Rethmeier, and a sister, Viola, was struck by a car driven V. L. Potter, manager of the Gamble store here.
The boy's sister was cut and bruised and his mother suffered a broken collarbone. An inquest verdict said the accident was unavoidable.
Funeral services were held at the home Friday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Max O. Jahr, pastor of the local Lutheran church. Interment was made in the Strawberry Point cemetery. He is survived by his parents, three sisters and three brothers: Viola, Caroline, Arlene, August, Jr., Russel and Duane.
