Albert Eugene Daggett was born Dec. 26 1861, at Minoaka, Ill., and passed away at his home here April 08, 1937. at the age of (Number of years missing), three months and 13 days.

In Minoaka he spent his childhood and grew to young manhood where on May 12, 1884, he was married to Miss Carrie Fowler. Seven children were born to them: Anna, now Mrs. John McLane, of San Francisco, Cal.; Edith, now Mrs. Ford, and Aleck Daggett, of Los Angeles, Cal.; Mrs. Bertha Snow of Springfield, Ill.; William L. Daggett of Chesterfield, Ill.; Charles W., who died in 1918, and one son who passed away in infancy.

Later he came to Iowa where he settled on a farm west of Arlington. On May 14, 1922, he was married to Miss Jennie Adams of West Union. They came to Volga to make their home and have resided here ever since.

Last fall he became ill and suffered greatly the remainder of the winter. His death came quietly to relieve him.

By trade he was a painter, cabinet maker and violin maker. He met few equals as a violin player. He participated in many fiddler's contests of late years and won many prizes.

Besides his wife and children named above he leaves to mourn his passing one brother, J. W. Daggett of Brownsville, Oregon, and one sister, Mrs. Lizzie Patrick of Lamoni, Iowa, one sister, Mrs. Alice Stryklund of Tranquility, Cal., preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Presbyterian church. The pastor, Rev. James Wray, officiated at the services and at Hill Crest cemetery.

The pall bearers were M. J. Conboy, Fred Grenand, H. L. Rogers, Will Leete, Ed. Smith ad Harry Rinkert.
