Strawberry Point: Funeral services of Donald Steinhilber of Texarkana, Texas, were held here Wednesday afternoon at the Congregational church, conducted by Rev. Carrie V. Lucas. The casket bearers were Leonard Gibbs of Hopkinton, Claude Smith of Fayette, W. Madden of Cedar Rapids, Joe Gratke, Walter Kingsland and George Scofield, all of Strawberry Point. Interment was made in the Strawberry Point cemetery.
Donald Grant Steinhilber, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles F. Steinhilber, was born at Strawberry Point on Nov. 25 1903, and died in Texarkana, Texas, on May 03, 1937. He attended the local public school up to his senior year, when he moved with his parents to Cedar Rapids, where he graduated from Washington High in 1921, and from Coe College in 1925. He was affiliated with Chi Beta Phi fraternity.
At Tampa, Fla., he was employed at the H. S. Kress store for four years, and was assistant manager for four years. He was married to Miss Mary Spivey of Tampa on April 07, 1928, after which he became manager of the Kress store at Dotham, Ala. Four years later he went to Texarkana, where he was manager of a Kress store, and where he has since resided. Besides his sorrowing wife, he leaves his bereaved parents of this place, also two brothers and one sister; Carl Steinhilber of Wilmington, N.C., Glenn Steinhilber of Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. G. J. (Marion) Siebke of Cedar Rapids, besides other relatives and a large circle of Friends.
