MONONA: James Monroe Clark, son of Geo. and Harriet Clark, was born at Jimmytown, Wis., June 17, 1852, where he grew to manhood, and on May 11, 1888, he was married to Miss Della Cummings at Platteville, Wis. In 1899 they moved to Iowa and settled on a farm in Fairview township, Allamakee county, where they have spent the past 38 years. For the past seven years he has been in failing health, and passed away from heart attack Tuesday, April 27, at the age of 84 years.
Surviving him are the widow, Mrs. Della Clark; two sons, James Clark, Jr., of Waterloo, and Howard Clark at home; and four daughters, Mrs. Earl Intermill of Fort Dodge, Miss Winnie Clark, Monona, Mrs. Geneva Topel of Waukon, and Miss Florence Clark of Rockford, Ill.
Funeral services were held from the Schultz funeral home Thursday afternoon at two o'clock, the Rev. H. W. Siefkes officiating, and burial was made in the city cemetery.
