VOLGA: Thomas G. Robinson died at the home of his son Allen, in Volga City, April 15, at the age of 74 years and 19 days.
Thomas George Robinson was born March 26, 1863, in Inverness, Canada, the son of William and Margaret Robinson. At the age of seven he, with his parents, five brothers and three sisters, moved to Bankston in Dubuque county. After a few years the family moved to a farm near Arlington.
As a young man he went to Cherokee, where he and a brother operated a creamery. From there they went to Cleghorn to continue in the same business.
On September 11. 1890, he was united in marriage to Miss Mary Jane Gowen at Bankston. Four sons were born to this union, the oldest dying in infancy. In 1916 Mr. and Mrs. Robinson, Allen, Clifford and Kenneth moved to Volga where the deceased has since resided. Since the death of his wife in 1929, he has lived with his son Allen and wife.
Those left to mourn his death are Allen and wife, Clifford and wife, Kenneth and wife, and four grandchildren; two brothers, Joe and Dave, of Blooming Prairie, Minn., and one sister, Mrs. Lizzie Gregg, of Olive, Mont.
Funeral services were held last Saturday afternoon in the Presbyterian church, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. James Wray. Interment was made in Hill Crest cemetery.
Casket-bearers were Will Chase, Zenda Potter, Lawrence Hulverson, Timothy Leahy, John Ward and Fred Smith.
