VOLGA: Julius Christeleit was born May 08, 1866, in Ostpreusein, Germany. He was married to Miss Amolie Suttkus in 1892. Two years later they sailed for America, settling on a farm near Clayton Center, where they lived until the year 1907. They then moved to a farm southeast of Volga, where they resided until the death of Mrs. Christeleit in 1920.
Eight children were born to this union, five sons and three daughters.
Following the death of his wife, Mr. Christeleit returned to his native land. On March 02, 1922, he was married to Miss Louise Boehnke, also of Ostpreusein, Germany. They came at once to America and to Volga City, where they have lived since.
On Friday, March 19, he entered Waterloo hospital for a major operation, and the following Tuesday death came suddenly.
He is survived by his bereaved wife; one daughter and three sons of his former marriage, Mrs. Orville Stannard and Will Christeleit of Volga, Julius of San Diego, Cal., and Fred of Sterling, Colo. He was preceded in death by two sons and two daughters.
The casket bearers were Otto Germar, E. C. Becker, Albert Duff, Henry Dohrer, Herman Baars, P. A. Wolf, Robert Duff and H. C. Andreae.
