Mrs. Henry Schorg, nee Elizabeth Lenhart, passed away at her home in Guttenberg last Wednesday evening, at 11:55 o'clock, at the age of 89 years, five months and twelve days, following a few weeks' illness. Three weeks ago she had the misfortune to fall at her home and break her leg near the hip, from which injuries she failed to recover. Mrs. Schorg was born at Landstuhl, Germany, on September 28, 1847. When 11 years old, she came to America with an aunt, settling at Guttenberg, Iowa. She attended the Guttenberg school. On August 19, 1866, she was married at Guttenberg to Mr. Henry Schorg, a Civil War veteran. After their marriage, the couple settled on a farm in Jefferson township, where they lived until the year 1905, when they came to Guttenberg to reside. Mr. Schorg died of February 15, 1915. Two daughters and one son have also preceded the mother in death.

Her death is deeply mourned by eight sons, Henry and Herman, of Remsen; John of Sioux Falls, S.D.; August and Frank of Guttenberg; Emil, of Highmore, S.D.; William of Woolsey, S.D.; and Edward of San Francisco, Calif; three daughters, Mrs. Lizzie Eschohl of Milwaukee, Wis., Mrs. Calvin Schroeder of Guttenberg, and Mrs. Lewis Walke of Farmersburg; 48 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. C. A. Jacobi, pastor of St. Paul's United Lutheran church here, at the Schorg home in Guttenberg, on Sunday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock, with interment in the City cemetery. The funeral was largely attended.
